Brentford and Wolves had their Premier League clash on Saturday bizarrely halted as a drone caused players to be withdrawn from the pitch. Referee Peter Bankes stopped play around the half-hour mark as an unauthorised drone was spotted flying above the Brentford Community Stadium.
Both teams were forced to leave the pitch after the object appeared, with it being considered a potential safety risk.
The players headed to their respective dressing rooms while both sets of fans are reported to have chanted ‘who’s the w***** with the drone?’
Play was stopped for around 15 minutes before both set of players returned to the pitch.
They were allowed a short warm-up before play continued. The score at the time was goalless and remained so until half-time.
