This comes after the SNP’s Westminster leader was forced to leave the House of Commons for accusing Mr Johnson of “misleading” MPs over Sue Gray’s report on Partygate. Mr Blackford was asked by speaker Lindsay Hoyle to withdraw his comments on multiple occasions but refused. Hitting out at the comments, Express.co.uk readers urged the politician to direct his attention towards his own party.

One reader, MJav, commented: “Mr Blackford should concentrate on the leader of SNP.”

A second, Mac123, wrote: “Double standards. If it was Sturgeon doing exactly what Boris did, Blackford would be defending her. Guaranteed.”

Other readers hit out at the SNP’s Westminster leader for “showboating”.

A third reader, wrote: “Showboating at its worst. The man in is an embarrassment to the Scottish people, should never be allowed to enter the parliament again.”

Another added: “Seems he is only there to cause trouble he should be kicked out for good.”

However, some readers defended Mr Blackford, questioning the decision to remove him from the house.

Securebob wrote: “So Blackford is kicked out for telling the truth and Johnston gets to stay…It’s like the movie Idiocracy …

“How shameful that a British PM is under police investigation.”

Another reader, Sarah Be, praised Mr Blackford saying: “Ian, you did great today! Real man!”, while a third said that the House of Commons has become “a cesspit”.

Before his removal from the house, the SNP’s Westminster leader claimed that the Prime Minister had “wilfully misled Parliament”.

“That is the crux – no ifs, no buts – he has wilfully misled Parliament.”

He added: “He’s being investigated by the police, he misled the House. He must now resign.

“I am standing up for my constituents that know this Prime Minister has lied and misled the House.”
