A dog has been snatched in the middle of a Glasgow city centre while its owner turned around to buy treats for the “good boy”. Link, a seven-year-old Doberman cross, belongs to besotted owner Alasdair Crawford who has appealed for help in finding his beloved hound.

Alasdair said Link was taken in the Trongate area of Glasgow’s city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.

An eyewitness told Alasdair that a man allegedly untied Link and run towards King Street where they both disappeared.

Alasdair has since sent out an appeal to anyone who might be able to help him find his dog who he says suffered from a “rare genetic condition that requires a lot of medical care”.

Alasdair told Glasgow Live that Link has been his rock “for seven years. I’ve looked after him through sickness and in health”.

He added: “I’m worried sick. He’s such a big personality and my life revolves around him.”

Alasdair has received a wave of love and support from a Facebook page called “Lost Dogs in Glasgow” with his post being shared over 1,000 times.

Thanking everyone for their kind words and support, Alasdair said: “It’s been so touching the amount of support and kindness from everyone.”

Alasdair described Link as a seven-year-old Doberman cross with a black and tan coat. He was last seen at around 2 am on Sunday morning heading towards King Street in Glasgow with an unknown man.
