Armed police descended on a neighbourhood after members of the public were reportedly mauled by two dogs in random attacks.
Officers arrived shortly after 2.30pm yesterday, April 18, following reports that two dogs were on the loose and attacking people.
A total of six people were rushed to hospital with bite injuries, including an elderly man and, reportedly, a child.
One victim said he was walking home when the two big dogs suddenly came “bounding” towards him and bit him.
Police seized two dogs in total, while a 28-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the incident.

West Midlands Police issued a statement yesterday and confirmed a man had been arrested following the incident.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We have arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a dog which was dangerously out of control after a number of people received injuries after being attacked by two dogs.
“We were called to Willow Gardens, Winson Green, shortly after 2.30pm on April 18, following reports two dogs were on the loose and attacking people.
“An elderly man was taken to hospital with bite injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
“Five other people have been presented at hospital with bite injuries which are also not believed to be life threatening.
“We have seized two dogs and both have been taken to secure kennels.

Victim speaks out
One of the victims of the horror attack has spoken of the moment he was mauled on the street.
Simon Edge was walking home along Barford Road, off Summerfield, when the two big dogs suddenly came ‘bounding’ towards him and bit into him.
Drawing blood as they tore into his flesh, the dad-of-one was left with a series of wounds on his lower back, arm and torso.
The dogs ran off to attack others while injured Simon staggered yards to his house on Willow Gardens.
When he attended City Hospital’s A&E, he found himself waiting with other victims including a young girl, one of his neighbours and the relative of a man who had been bitten.
A total of six victims had been mauled by the animals.
