Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are “fading” as “fascination figures” in the US and UK, a royal expert has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking to build their own brands and careers in the US away from the Royal Family after relocating from the UK in early 2020.
They have since signed multi-million pound media deals with both Netflix and Spotify, with the former actress launching her own ‘Archetypes’ podcast series and the Duke releasing his tell-all memoir Spare.
But Meghan and Harry have kept a low-profile since the release of the book, only recently appearing together for the first time in several months at a basketball game in Los Angeles.
Royal author Tina Brown warned all eyes will now be on what they will do next, warning “they are going to have to prove themselves in terms of celebrity content”.

She told Piers Morgan’s TalkTV show broadcast on Sky News Australia: “Right now, they are sort of fading, is the truth, both in the US and in the UK, certainly as fascination figures.
“They are in their next kind of phase we’re they are going to have to prove themselves in terms of celebrity content. It’s all going to be about what’s next.
“I know Meghan is scrambling very hard now what she is going to do with this huge deal she has with Netflix to create content.
“She hasn’t actually done any content – except for the documentary series.
She said: “There is probably quite a lot of personal and emotional desire to do that but anyone who’s smart and advising Charles will say ‘don’t do it’.
“If he strips them of their titles, the fact is they have a whole new grudge match to go to town with.”
Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell, who got to know Harry well during the prince’s younger years, warned King Charles cannot simply strip the couple of their royal titles.
He said: “Their USP is being royal and once they are royal and have titles, they can make money because they are considered to be the Royal Family in America.
“Charles can’t take the royal titles away from them because Harry was born a royal prince, so that makes Meghan a princess.”
The Duke of Sussex will make the trip from the US to the UK for the Coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey on Saturday on his own, with Meghan remaining in California with the couple’s children – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Archie’s fourth birthday also falls on Saturday, and it is thought Harry could just make a flying visit for the Coronation in order to return home celebrate’s his son’s special day.
