Lady Louise Windsor has reason to be cheerful ahead of imminent return to university

NewsLady Louise Windsor has reason to be cheerful ahead of imminent return to university

Lady Louise Windsor will have a reason to celebrate ahead of her return to the University of St Andrews.

The prestigious university, which was also attended by both the Prince and Princess of Wales, has come out on top of the 2024 Time and Sunday Times Good University Guide ranking.

The university has ranked higher than both the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, which are two very well-known places of study.

The 19-year-old began her studies last September, just a few weeks after the death of her beloved grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The ranking, which is released each year before students return to study, is a good indicator of the most trusted places to study for an undergraduate degree.

As if this news wasn’t amazing enough, Lady Louise’s chosen university also topped the recently released 2024 Guardian University Guide.

This ranking meant that it is the first time that any UK university, other than those in Oxbridge, has led both University Guides in the same year.

Lady Louise is studying English, while William – who graduated in 2005 – studied Geography.

The Princess of Wales, who also graduated in 2005, studied History of Art.

Like most students, Lady Louise resided in student halls at the university for her first year.

Despite this, she will have to find her own accommodation for the remaining two years – which is something she has likely already sorted out.

It remains unknown whether Lady Louise’s younger brother, James, Earl of Wessex will attend university when he reaches that age.

The siblings’ mother, the Duchess of Edinburgh, has previously spoken about how she and Prince Edward want to “try to bring them up with the understanding they will likely have to work for a living”.

Back in May, Lady Louise joined her royal relatives to celebrate the Coronation of her uncle, King Charles III.

Royal fans praised the young royal for her grown-up look as she appeared to steal the show.

She donned a lilac artistic print dress, with her blonde hair tousled over her shoulders, styled in soft waves.
