Latitude Festival goers offered on-site Covid vaccinations

And alongside the usual stages, bars and burger vans, a vaccination bus attracted big numbers. The single-decker, staffed by NHS workers, was well sited between the campsite and the main arena. Visitors aged over 18 could get their first or second dose of the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine on a walk-in basis.

Performing highlights included Bastille, Kaiser Chiefs, Eighties’ icon Rick Astley and comedians Jo Brand and Bill Bailey.

The four-day gig also starred The Chemical Brothers, Supergrass and Damon Albarn.

Around 40,000 music fans were expected to attend the event, which is part of the Government’s Events Research Programme.

It was among the first to go ahead since Covid restrictions were lifted in England on “Freedom Day” last Monday.
