A man has been accused of engaging in an “intense sexual relationship” with a schoolgirl that he met for sex “nearly every day” after speaking on Snapchat, a court heard. Faisal Khan, 19, from Oldham, has pleaded not guilty to all six counts of having sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl and another count of supplying her with cannabis. Jurors at Manchester Crown Court were told that the pair met up “nearly every day” and had “some form of sexual activity every time they met”.
Prosecuting, Ben Lawrence alleged that Khan had an “intense sexual relationship” with the girl “which he perpetuated by supplying her with alcohol and drugs”, reports MEN.
After meeting on Snapchat, Khan “complimented” the schoolgirl and said she was “pretty”.
“Fairly swiftly they made arrangements to meet up in person,” Mr Lawrence said.
He claimed Mr Khan “did a number of things that were exciting and attractive” to the girl, including picking her up in a car and giving her cannabis, alcohol or balloons of nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas.
The pair had exchanged more than 3,000 messages and Khan “made her feel special”, the jury were told.
Khan told the girl that he loved her and they shared kisses and heart emojis on Snapchat, it was said. Mr Lawrence said they would meet up “on six out of seven days in a week”, including in the afternoon after she’d returned from school.
Khan is accused of suggesting the pair spend time together in a hotel room and would tell her to meet him at a nearby car park after being “clearly concerned her mum would find out”.
“He knew full well she was a schoolgirl,” Mr Lawrence said. At one point Khan’s car was seized by police because it had no insurance.
She took a taxi home and went to his bedroom upstairs. Khan’s father was asleep at the time and was concerned that his bed was “squeaky”, a court heard.
They then allegedly had sex downstairs. Police became involved after a teacher noticed a “sexual image” on her phone.
The indictment runs from January to October last year, before Khan was arrested.
In interview with police, he admitted knowing the girl but claimed she told him she was 19. Khan told police she never mentioned being at school and claimed she was in college.
He denied they’d ever engaged in sexual activity, and said at most they had shared a “friendly kiss on the cheek”. He maintained he didn’t take drugs or drink alcohol, and denied supplying the girl with cannabis.
Khan, of Milne Street, Oldham, had told her that he loved her as a friend, the jury heard.
The trial continues.
