Prince Harry’s birthday call to his dad, King Charles, might have sparked a father-son reunion but Palace insiders are not too pleased that details of the conversation have been leaked, according to sources.
Details of the phone call Harry made to wish his dad a happy 75th birthday were leaked to the UK’s Daily Telegraph, including Meghan Markle joining in on the call.
It was also reported that the Sussex kids – Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2 – sent their grandad a video message singing “Happy Birthday.”
A source told the outlet that it marked a “notable shift” in relations between the king, his second son and his daughter-in-law.
One insider said: “Harry and Meghan fight for privacy when it suits them, and yet the minute Harry gets on the phone to the King, it’s in a newspaper,” Page Six reported.

Despite this, a Sussex source insisted that the couple had nothing to do with the leak of the “warm” call – which is thought to be the estranged royals’ first phone chat in six months following the publication of Harry’s memoir Spare.
In the book, Harry criticised his stepmum, Queen Camilla.
Harry, 39, also plans to speak to Charles next week, it was reported.
A source told Page Six Wednesday: “Of course Harry wants to have a better relationship with Charles. He is his father after all.”
The last time Prince Harry was seen with the Royal Family was at the King’s Coronation in May, and he was last photographed with them over a year ago at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
However, the upcoming release of Omid Scobie’s new book, “Endgame,” on November 28 might stir up trouble.
An excerpt from the book published in People magazine claims that Harry was “kept in the dark” about Queen Elizabeth’s deteriorating health before her death in September 2022.
Scobie, who also co-wrote “Finding Freedom,” said the Sussexes had “no idea” the Royal Family was preparing for the Queen’s death.
He revealed that Harry had to arrange his own flight to Scotland to bid farewell to his grandmother, while the rest of the family, including his brother, Prince William, took a private jet.
As reported by Page Six, Harry only found out about the Queen’s death when he landed and read a news report on his phone.
In an interview with People, Scobie suggested that the relationship between William and Harry is irreparable as the Prince of Wales views his brother as a “defector.”
He stated that “there is no going back” for the brothers and “absolutely nothing has changed” since the release of Spare.
