Meanwhile, the Duchess also spoke about being supported while working in the entertainment industry, and the importance of giving that support back to other women.
She said: “This industry is just so special, and you see how many women use the platform that they have, and just channel it for good.
“And I think the more that we support each other, it just amplifies the work, amplifies our community.
“I’m just thrilled to be back in it and sit in this room and be in such good company tonight.”
Elsewhere, she revealed she and Prince Harry have “exciting things” that will make people “feel something”.
Meghan was complimented on her beige, off-the-shoulder dress before she was asked if she was on a “mum’s night out” to which she laughed and said “exactly”.
Prince Harry’s wife attended the event on her own and talked about how “proud” she is over the couple’s “exciting” joint projects they have lined up for Netflix.
She said: “Things that make people feel– I was going say ‘good’, but it’s more than that, things that make people feel something, right?
“And feel a sense of community. But we have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it, too. It’s really fun.”
Addressing the renewed popularity her old show Suits has enjoyed this year on streaming services, the duchess expressed her amazement and said:
“Isn’t that wild? It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit.
“But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”
