Who is Natasha Raskin Sharp’s famous father?

Bargain Hunt fans will know the daytime game show has a number of regular presenters.

Expert Natasha Raskin Sharp is one of the most-seen stars of the show and she comes from a talented family.

Her father is Philip Raskin, a well-known Scottish artist who specialises in landscapes and seascapes.

He inspired his daughter, 36, to take up a career in antiques.

Philip was born in Glasgow in 1947 and he has featured in many exhibitions across the world.

She went on to specialise in Scottish contemporary art, under her father’s influence.

The expert has appeared on shows across the globe including Antiques Road Trip, Flog It! and For What It’s Worth.

She initially studied Law at university but moved schools to study History of Art.

Her other roles included working at a fashion house, and at the primary elections of 2008 for Barack Obama in New Hampshire.

She also ran an art supply business with her father, before discovering a love for auctions.

Speaking on why she chose a career in antiques, she said: “I was gently nudged in the direction of the antiques trade and auction houses by my dad, who thought that I’d be well-suited to the environment.

“Although I’d never normally admit it, he was absolutely right.”

The art lover did say she may follow in her father’s footsteps in the catering business at some stage.

She added: “My plan was always to follow in my parents’ footsteps and open a restaurant.

“If I’m honest, I’m not ruling it out as a sideline…there’s nothing quite like catering to keep you on your toes.”

Bargain Hunt airs on weekdays on BBC One at 12.15pm
