Zara Tindall was caught up in an awkward moment at Royal Ascot on Thursday, as she accidentally bashed a journalist’s phone during a live TV interview. She hit the phone while talking enthusiastically about the King’s first-ever winning horse at the prestigious racing event, as she was surrounded by a large number of journalists hoping to catch a few minutes of the royal’s time. Zara could be heard apologising after making contact with the phone, before continuing to chat with the broadcaster.
Dressed in pastel pink, the late Queen’s eldest granddaughter spoke about how “special” the day is for the Royal Family and described the day as “bittersweet”.
Speaking about her late grandmother, Zara said: “You think how proud and excited our grandmother would have been, the Queen would have been.
“You know, to have a winner for Charles and Camilla, and keep that dream alive.”
