Ozark returned to Netflix with season four and the latest instalment marks the end of the road for the Byrdes. Fans had been speculating real estate agent Sam Dermody (played by Kevin L Johnson) would meet his demise. Actor Johnson told Express.co.uk he feared he would not be a part of the final season.
The final season of Ozark has just hit screens and it is bound to leave fans on the edge of their seats once more.
One character who has been through a lot with the Byrde family is Sam Dermody, a real estate agent the Byrde family uses to find their new house.
Sam hires Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) as a house stager, and they later rope him into doing their bidding.
In the previous season, he was arrested for helping the family launder their money, however, he had no clue what they had been doing.
Actor Johnson said one of the biggest challenges for the final season was dealing with the coronavirus outbreak.

He told Express.co.uk: “I would say the challenge this season was making sure that we didn’t have to shut down because of covid outbreaks.
“We did a really good job of staying safe onset and never had any delays.
“I did get Covid right before I was supposed to start shooting. They had to push my start date.
“I was pretty worried they were going to cut some of my stuff. Luckily that didn’t happen. After I was out of quarantine, I was on set the next day.”
The star admitted Sam had been through the wringer during his time on the show.
He will soon be seen as Eric in Netlflix’s Florida Man, executive produced by Jason Bateman.
The actor will also guest star in the upcoming season of Stranger Things.
Speaking about his Ozark role, he said it has “been a joy” playing Sam for so long.
The actor added: “This was my first role with an arch that went from the beginning to the end.
“I’d say the most challenging thing about playing Sam is making sure that the audience sees the personal growth through the seasons.
“Yes, Sam is a very trusting, affable, and somewhat naive person.
“However, he has shown growth during the run of the show.
“Just like in real life, we become more comfortable in our own skin.
“I think Sam has come a long way since season one. It was a nice challenge showing that progression without changing the character completely.
“Making sure to keep the essence of Sam.”
Ozark season 4 is on Netflix now.
