A massive fire has broken out over Leeds today with a huge plume of smoke blackening the skies of the city.

Flames could be seen rising from a building in the Bramley area as thick black palls of smoke flowed into the sky. The blaze can be seen from a long distance.

It is unclear at this time if anyone has been injured in the fire and the causes of the fire are also unclear.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said five appliances were currently in attendance at an incident in Bramley, Leeds, which has created a huge plume of black smoke.

It said: “Those in the surrounding areas are advised to close windows and doors due to the smoke. Please also avoid the area.”
