Prince Harry will find King's Coronation photo opportunities 'hard to come by'

NewsPrince Harry will find King's Coronation photo opportunities 'hard to come by'

A Royal expert has said that during the King’s Coronation, Prince Harry will only get “a few photo opportunities”, The Mirror reports. Despite the Duke of Sussex’s attendance at the historic ceremony on May 6, the Royal Family will be “careful not to be alone with him”.

Following the release of his memoir Spare, which featured numerous claims and criticisms regarding his family, Harry’s relationship with the Royals is reportedly “very tense”.

In the book, he labelled his stepmother Queen Camilla as “dangerous”, and alleged a physical confrontation with brother Prince William.

His public childhood, teenage struggles with drugs and the story of when he lost his virginity to an older woman in a field were just a few of the tales that featured in the book.

On Harry’s decision to attend the Coronation, a PR expert told The Mirror that the Duke will find it “tough”.

“I think Harry may find the coronation tough, I suspect he will get a few photo opportunities near immediate family members, that will be all over magazines stateside, but away from the cameras, behind closed doors, I feel he won’t be acknowledged.

“After all, whatever is said, may end up in a new book or tv interview. So everyone will be careful not to be alone with him,” Kieran Elsby, director of Media Global PR told The Mirror.

A friend of Harry’s told People that he “didn’t hear from Charles” regarding his invitation to the Coronation, instead receiving an email from his father’s office.

“They didn’t hear from Charles. Harry wanted to hear from his father directly — it’s always through somebody.”

Additionally, the friend said that he will attend the event in support of his father, “not an institution”.

“This is about a son showing up for his father rather than the optics of the institution.”

Kieran indicated that King Charles still wants his son at his coronation despite his allegations.

“Charles clearly wants some relationship with Harry, hence the invite. He is his son and that is all that is left for Harry.”
