Prince Harry and Prince William are reportedly at odds over watching the sixth, and final season of Netflix’s The Crown.
The first four episodes of the final season were released today, November 16, with the last episodes expected next month.
The season will surely be close to home for both William and Harry as it follows their late mother’s final weeks, her death and the immediate aftermath.
The drama is set to depict Princess Diana’s final meeting with her two sons, as well as imagines of what their final phone conversation was like.
Prince Harry is expected to tune in to watch his final conversation with his late mother dramatised for the series, but Prince William will steer clear, according to The Telegraph.
Olivia Colman, who portrayed the late Queen in seasons three and four, once asked William if he watches the show, to which he replied a “firm no”.
People close to William have also previously expressed their surprise that the show depicts events so close to the present day, meaning that many actually remember them.
In one scene of the new season, the show depicts the final call that Diana had with her sons.
The brothers, who were only 15 and 12 at the time, have publicly spoken out about how they hurried the call and it is something that still haunts them.
Although never actually admitting anything that was said, William previously said in a 2017 documentary about his mother that the conversation continued to lay “heavily” on his mind.
He said: “Harry and I were in a desperate rush to say goodbye, you know ‘see you later’.
“If I’d known now obviously what was going to happen I wouldn’t have been so blase about it and everything else. But that phone call still sticks in my mind, quite heavily.”
