Sainsbury’s recalls glass water bottles due to risk of explosion – ‘do not drink’


Food and drink recalls are issued by companies, brands, and supermarkets when a product is unsafe to use. This means it may cause harm to certain individuals and is therefore withdrawn from shelves.

It went on to detail its advice to customers, saying: “Please do not consume this product with the above details, place in a bag and dispose of it safely.

“A full refund will be given and no receipt is required.

“Please email: [email protected] or call 01764 660 500.”

Highland Spring Ltd added: “Highland Spring Group takes its responsibilities to consumers extremely seriously and always aims to ensure the highest possible standards of product safety.

It outlined its advice to consumers, saying: “If you have bought the above product, do not drink it.

“Please contact Highland Spring Ltd on [email protected] or call 01764 660 500 for a refund.

“Please avoid unnecessary handling of the product and do not return to the store, instead, safely dispose of the product.”

It added: “There is a risk that glass bottles may explode which may cause injury.”
