‘Scarface’ drugs gang jailed for £1.1m drugs racket

News‘Scarface’ drugs gang jailed for £1.1m drugs racket

The 10-strong Albanian county lines pushers pumped cocaine worth more than £1.1million, wrapped in lottery ticket stubs, into South Derbyshire, North-West Leicestershire and East Staffordshire.

The leaders were Edmund Haziri, 36, and his brother Edward, 34, who ran the “Eddie line” drugs operation.

The gang was finally caught after a year-long police operation when CCTV showed a mobile phone passcode used by one of them.

Officers copied it to open the phone, which revealed details of the gang’s drug dealing and money laundering operation.

Dramatic police footage showed the crooks being arrested in raids across the Midlands and London on March 23 last year.

Officers searching the home of one found a poster of Pacino’s Tony Montana Scarface character on a wall.

Derby Crown Court sentenced the gang, aged 22 to 47, to a combined total of 71 years and seven months for conspiring to supply cocaine. Another gang member, Daniel Stavrat, 29, will be sentenced next month.
