Police have arrested a man on suspicion of causing a public nuisance after an incident in Somerset involving a “man wearing latex” last night.
Somerset police said the man is currently in police custody after he was apprehended in Bleadon following a midnight call from a member of the public.
The service said that officers were called around 12.07pm after “a man wearing latex” jumped out in front of a vehicle on Accommodation Road.
The man in question, police said, was involved in previous incidents in Cleeve, Claverham and Yatton.
Officials in the area have recorded sightings of the so-called “Somerset gimp”, a latex-suited individual who walks up to strangers.
In a series of similar incidents, the gimp-suited individual approached people in the villages while acting unusually, with one video showing a latex-clad man writhing on a patch of grass.
Police did not mention the individual by name, but said he was previously arrested in relation to the incidents.
