Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy set to pocket easy profit as Real Madrid come knocking

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy could be about to pocket a huge wad of cash with Real Madrid interested in Sergio Reguilon. The Spanish giants have an option to re-sign the left-back for £33.6million.

Tottenham might just lose Reguilon this summer and they will not be able to anything about it.

That is because Real Madrid are interested in bringing the Spain international back – two years after selling him.

According to the Mirror, the Spanish giants are keen to trigger their option to buy back the 25-year-old.

That clause expires on May 30 while Marcelo is set to leave at the end of the season, meaning Real are keen on a new left-back.

While Los Blancos are yet to make the call on Reguilon, he is the priority target ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Spaniard would cost £33.6m and that will see Spurs chairman Levy made an easy profit on a player that he signed for £27m.

But Spurs fans might be disappointed to lose the defender for such a value as he is a popular member of the squad.

Antonio Conte has been utilising him as a left wing-back – a position that Tottenham do not have many of.

And finding an adept replacement without spending over what they would receive for Reguilon might be a difficult ask.

Conte demands a lot from his wing-backs and was frustrated after missing out on Adama Traore in January to solve his right-sided problem.

Reguilon has already revealed some insight into how the Italian coaches his training sessions, admitting they were the worst weeks of his life.

“We are working a lot,” he said. “The last weeks and the international break was one of the worst weeks of my life.

“[Conte’s] a fanatic of football he always speaks about football in training, before training, after training.

“I go to sleep, I’m thinking about football, my tactics, my position.”
