This includes an extra £3million for local care centres across Scotland to grow their services for young unpaid carers and £200,000 to strengthen the Young Carer Package, which provides young caregivers with breaks and activity opportunities.
Furthermore, an extra £377,000 to expand the Family Fund to assist the households of carers and £590,000 has been set aside for unpaid carers who are looking after a loved one with dementia.
Overall, the total additional funding for carer support being made by the Scottish Government comes to £4,167,000.
